On February 7, the 9th Asian Winter Games officially opened in Harbin. The 9th Asian Winter Games (Harbin 2025) was held in Harbin from February 7 to 14, 2025. As another major international comprehensive ice and sports event hosted by China after the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, it marks the second time Harbin has hosted the Asian Winter Games since 1996.

Under the theme “Dream of Ice and Snow, Heart of Asia”, the Games cover two competition zones — Harbin and Yabuli — featuring 6 sports, 11 disciplines and 64 events. It attracted 1,275 athletes from 34 countries and regions, reaching the largest scale in the history of the Asian Winter Games.

This ice and snow gala is not only a stage for athletes to compete, but also a comprehensive test of the city’s emergency response capabilities. To ensure timely fire security response during the Games, the Harbin Fire and Rescue Detachment deployed Saishi NTP servers, unifying the time source for fire monitoring systems, communication equipment, drone patrols and more. When external signals are lost, the equipment continues to output high-precision time using high-stability crystal oscillators or rubidium atomic clocks, supported by proprietary FPGA algorithms, firmly guarding the Games’ time lifeline.
