The China Meteorological Science Research Institute (CAMS) is a national-level research institution directly under the China Meteorological Administration and is also the largest and most comprehensive national social public welfare research institution in the field of atmospheric science in China.
As a core research unit in the field of meteorology, its main task is to conduct basic research, applied research and technology development in meteorology, and provide scientific and technological support for meteorological services and disaster prevention and mitigation.
With the frequent occurrence and increasing intensity of extreme weather, the strategic position of meteorological services in disaster emergency, people's livelihood protection and other fields has become increasingly prominent. The information network system of a certain command center of CAMS undertakes core tasks such as coordinating meteorological data resources and coordinating emergency responses, which has become increasingly important.
However, traditional meteorological networks have problems such as insufficient time synchronization accuracy, low cross-system coordination efficiency, and weak anti-interference ability, which are difficult to meet the requirements of precise synchronization of multiple sources of meteorological data (radars, satellites, ground observation stations), efficient cross-regional system collaboration, rapid response, and secure autonomy and controllability.
Therefore, CAMS has jointly launched an information network system upgrade project with Saisi, using the high-performance clock system as the core, to provide time-based support for building a smart meteorological network.
Saisi clock system - From data accuracy to decision-making acceleration
In the field of meteorological monitoring and disaster warning, millisecond-level time synchronization is a core element for ensuring data accuracy and timely decision-making.
CAMS, with high-precision time synchronization technology as the driving force, has introduced the Saisi clock system and successfully built an intelligent meteorological information network, injecting new momentum of "time order" into meteorological services, disaster prevention and mitigation, and people's livelihood protection.
This time, CAMS selected the Saisi clock system, which is a general-purpose NTP server, with a 19-inch standard rack structure, redundant power supply and satellite input design, and a high-precision timing module, to provide millisecond-level time synchronization accuracy for its meteorological information network, achieving a leap from data accuracy to decision-making acceleration for the command center information network system.
At the same time, the clock system is equipped with Saisi high-precision OCXO, deeply integrating FPGA algorithms, ensuring uninterrupted time services in extreme environments. And the product's rich status display capabilities and WEB management operation interface can realize intelligent operation and visualization control of its smart meteorological network.
This time, the deep cooperation between Saisi and CAMS has deeply integrated time synchronization technology into the entire chain of meteorological data collection, transmission and decision-making, becoming a new paradigm for high-precision clock systems driving smart meteorology.
