Saisi × China University of Geosciences｜SEIS Provides Clock System for China University of Geosciences

Founded in 1952, China University of Geosciences (CUG) is a key national university directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China.The university has built a discipline system led by earth system science, while vigorously developing applied sciences, cutting-edge sciences, and emerging interdisciplinary fields closely related to social and economic development, including information technology, nanotechnology, materials science, biotechnology, energy, and environmental protection.

With the development of information technology, universities in China are gradually transforming toward digitalization, informatization, and intelligence, giving rise to the concept of a Smart Campus.A Smart Campus refers to an integrated intelligent environment for working, studying, and living on campus based on the Internet of Things.Against the background of industry-wide informatization, building a smart campus has become imperative.In 2018, the national standard General Framework for Smart Campus was issued, marking that smart campus construction was officially put on the national agenda.A standard clock system is a critical part of smart campus construction.Systems such as staff attendance, camera time synchronization, information release, and academic administration all require a precise time source for unified timing.

In July this year, CUG established an Informatization Office to strengthen the university’s information construction.The clock products purchased this time will be scheduled and managed by the Resource Management Department under the office, and will be installed in the university’s network center equipment room to provide an accurate and unified time reference for all intelligent information systems across the campus.
