Saisi Synchronized Clocks fully empower Volcano Engine's Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center, supporting ByteDance's Volcano Engine in building a "New Digital Universe on the Cloud".

Volcano Engine, a cloud computing service brand under ByteDance—a world-renowned internet giant—primarily provides customers with IaaS services including computing, storage, networking, security, containers, and databases, while supporting hybrid cloud and private cloud deployment models.

To meet its rapidly growing business service demands, ByteDance has launched its first computing power center in East China in the Yangtze River Delta region: the Volcano Engine Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center. As a key project of Wuhu's "Eastern Data and Western Computing" data cluster, the center boasts a total investment of 8 billion RMB, will deploy 21,800 server cabinets and be equipped with an independent 220kV substation. It undertakes multiple missions such as large AI model training, cloud computing, and the development of the regional digital economy.

Faced with the challenges of collaborative computing across tens of thousands of devices and millisecond-level computing resource scheduling, the Volcano Engine Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center has adopted Saisi Synchronized Clocks—a proven technology used in national strategic engineering projects, including the Gansu Qingyang hub node of the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" initiative. With millisecond-level time accuracy, Saisi's solution ensures data consistency in the center's distributed systems, precision of AI training results, and reliability of dynamic computing resource scheduling.

As a strategic partner of leading domestic cloud service providers such as Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud, Saisi’s cooperation with the Volcano Engine Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center marks another milestone. Saisi will fully empower the center’s "Infrastructure-Business Engine" ecosystem, supporting ByteDance's Volcano Engine in building its "New Digital Universe on the Cloud".

Within the collaborative matrix of over 20,000 devices at the Volcano Engine Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center, a time error of just 1 microsecond could trigger a cascading collapse of computing resources. From gradient synchronization in large AI model training to millisecond-level scheduling instructions across regional computing power centers, time accuracy directly determines business success or failure.

Relevant research indicates that the time synchronization requirements of computing power centers are mainly reflected in three core aspects: distributed collaboration, AI training scenarios, and network performance optimization. For distributed system collaboration, microservice calls across servers/cabinets require millisecond-level time alignment, and transaction logs in distributed databases demand strict chronological order. In AI training scenarios, a 1ms delay in GPU cluster parameter updates may lead to a 20% extension of the training cycle and an increase of millions in single-task costs.

The Saisi Synchronized Clocks adopted by the Volcano Engine Yangtze River Delta Computing Power Center are high-precision time synchronization devices that deliver millisecond-level NTP output accuracy in local area networks and support ultra-large-scale computing demands. By tracking satellite signals, the product provides NTP time service with an accuracy of ≤1ms for downstream devices, meeting the real-time response requirements of exaFLOPS-level computing in the center and delivering a zero-error time benchmark for scenarios such as AI training and high-frequency trading.

Meanwhile, the high reliability and security of Saisi Synchronized Clocks perfectly align with the dynamic resource scheduling needs of the center. The product features redundant satellite signal and power supply designs; in the event of an external signal interruption, its built-in crystal oscillator combined with FPGA timing algorithms can maintain a timing error of ≤1μs/h for 12 hours, ensuring business continuity in extreme scenarios.

This cooperation between Saisi and Volcano Engine is not only a new benchmark for time synchronization technology empowering new infrastructure construction, but also reveals that the evolution of infrastructure in the digital economy era must rely on the trinity collaboration of computing power, algorithms, and clock synchronization.

As large AI models break through the boundaries of human cognition with trillion-scale parameters, it is these "invisible time gears" that underpin the precise operation of the digital world at the fundamental level.

With over a decade of expertise in the clock synchronization industry, Saisi has built a complete industrial chain layout covering the entire value chain from "time source - time service terminal - time application terminal - time-frequency chip". The company has developed a comprehensive product matrix with distinctive professional advantages and full industry coverage, including core components (chips, crystal oscillators, atomic clocks), clock systems (NTP/PTP time synchronization servers, time synchronization devices, BDS common view equipment, satellite intelligent shunt systems, time service security protection devices, time-frequency testers), and testing platforms & software. This positions Saisi as one of the few enterprises with the R&D and design capabilities to provide end-to-end time-frequency solutions.

In the future, Saisi will continue to focus on providing high-precision time and frequency benchmarks for thousands of industries, drive development through technological innovation, build core competitiveness for the future, and efficiently empower the development of a digital and intelligent society.
