China Unicom is the only large-scale telecommunications enterprise in China that comprehensively operates integrated telecom services. Shanghai Unicom (full name "China Unicom United Network Communications Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch") is an important branch of China Unicom in Shanghai and a main force in the city's informatization construction. It is fully responsible for tasks such as the development planning of Unicom's telecom network in Shanghai, engineering construction, business operations, customer service, and network maintenance. It possesses comprehensive business operation capabilities, including mobile and fixed communication services, and leads in fields such as wireless communication services, telecom value-added services, long-distance telephone services, and data communication services.
1. IDC Data Center: The Cornerstone of Secure Smart Society Operations
An IDC (Internet Data Center) is a data center that leverages existing internet communication lines and bandwidth resources to create a standardized, professional-grade telecom environment. It provides comprehensive services including server hosting, leasing, and value-added solutions for businesses and governments.
IDC, as a data center providing large-scale, high-quality, secure and reliable professional services including server hosting, space leasing, wholesale network bandwidth, ASP and EC to Internet Content Providers (ICP), enterprises, media and various websites, is the infrastructure for the safe operation of various e-commerce models. It is also a platform supporting enterprises and their business alliance distributors, suppliers and customers to implement value chain management.
An IDC data center is essentially a hub for data storage and distribution, typically located at the most data-intensive points in Internet networks. It emerged as a response to the growing demand for hosting and virtualization services. In essence, it evolved from ISP server hosting facilities and represents the result of increasingly specialized division of labor within Internet enterprises.
Therefore, IDC data centers typically host a large number of servers that operate continuously 24/7 to provide uninterrupted data services for external users. When we browse web pages or use apps online, we essentially send requests to the servers in the IDC to retrieve data.
2. 5G-enabled communication devices: featuring robust data transmission and synchronization capabilities
In high-traffic environments like Shanghai Unicom's IDC data center, where massive server systems operate 24/7, any time discrepancy among servers can trigger catastrophic information errors and signal distortions. Such disruptions may cause complete breakdowns in data transmission services, severely impacting end-users including financial institutions, banks, securities firms, and government agencies. The ripple effects could even disrupt every corner of our smart society.
Therefore, the unified time synchronization function of clock systems becomes particularly crucial. Saisi has deployed SM2000 5G communication equipment in Shanghai Unicom's IDC data center. This telecom-grade high-precision time-frequency integrated network synchronization device enables the establishment of a precision clock service system, providing standardized time signals to all servers within the IDC to ensure the entire system operates with accuracy, synchronization, and efficiency.
3. Saisi delivers end-to-end time-frequency solutions, empowering business partners to build a smart, precise future!
As the core clock system provider for China's three major telecom operators—China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom—Saisi has established first-class technical expertise and proven implementation experience in ensuring time-frequency synchronization for network communications.
These include the construction of 14 provincial synchronous networks for China Unicom, the support of 5G synchronous networks for telecom outlets in 19 provinces of China, the winning bid for the centralized procurement of synchronous network equipment for China Mobile from 2020 to 2022, the construction of a time-frequency integrated (IEEE1588) commercial synchronous network—the time synchronization system for China Unicom's backbone network in Inner Mongolia, as well as the establishment of long-term strategic partnerships with leading cloud service providers in China such as Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud. Additionally, it provides Beidou clock servers for data centers of the Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China, and the State Post Bureau, participates in the top-level optimization design of the internal clock network for the 14th Five-Year Plan's power Internet of Things, supplies clock systems for 70% of provincial backbone networks and major power grid projects in China, and provides reference clock systems for over 50% of new subway communication system projects for China's rail transit.
Over a decade, Saisi has been trusted by hundreds of top-tier clients who have chosen, believed in, and remained loyal to the brand.
Saisi is continuously driving innovation and refining its time-frequency ecosystem that integrates industry, academia, research, and application. Building on its provincial-level enterprise research institute, provincial postdoctoral workstation, and a robust R&D team with over 50% of its workforce dedicated to research, the company is committed to advancing with greater ambition. It delivers a more diverse product portfolio and more mature product forms to support the stable business operations of partners across various industries.
