Recently, the Dali‑Baoshan section of the Dali‑Ruili Railway was officially opened to traffic, marking a major progress in the construction of the China‑Myanmar International Railway Corridor. Saisi supplied high‑precision network synchronization equipment for the communication transmission systems along the full line of the Dali‑Ruili Railway, ensuring accurate and stable operation of this vital international corridor connecting Southeast Asia.

An International Corridor Connecting Southeast Asia

As a key corridor of the radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, as well as an important route in Yunnan’s “Eight Out‑of‑Province, Five Cross‑Border” railway network, the Dali‑Ruili Railway (China‑Myanmar International Corridor) serves as a major international artery linking East Asia and Southeast Asia.

The opening of the Dali‑Baoshan section has ended the history of no railway access in Baoshan and surrounding areas, further improved the structure of the railway network in the western border regions, and accumulated valuable experience for the construction of railway tunnels and bridges under complex geological conditions. It has greatly facilitated travel and freight transport for people of all ethnic groups along the line, accelerated the development of tourism resources in western Yunnan, and is of great significance for promoting ethnic unity and rural revitalization.

Transmission System: The Hub of Railway Communication

The transmission system is a component of the data communication system, responsible for connecting the source and destination nodes in the communication network. Simply put, it is an information transmission channel for connectivity and data transfer, and a critical part of the communication system. As a key subsystem in railway communication, it performs core functions including train dispatching and command, operation management, official liaison, and transmission of various types of information.

The railway transmission system provides transmission channels for images, audio, voice and data to other communication subsystems, and offers flexible and reliable communication channels for disaster prevention and alarm systems, power monitoring automation systems, automatic fare collection systems, etc. It acts as an indispensable information transmission medium and communication hub for the operation of the railway transportation system.

Railway transmission systems impose extremely stringent requirements on communication signal stability. Therefore, self‑healing protection rings are usually configured to provide protection and recovery. That is, in case of a network failure (e.g., optical fiber breakage) during operation, the transmission system can automatically restore service transmission within an extremely short time via protection switching without manual intervention.

Common network protection schemes include two‑fiber unidirectional path protection rings and two‑fiber bidirectional multiplex section protection rings. Such protection rings generally adopt optical fiber transmission, which is susceptible to jitter and wander, resulting in frequency errors and deviations, and eventually causing delays or errors in communication signals, severely affecting transmission stability.

Therefore, BITS (Building Integrated Timing Supply) equipment must be deployed in the railway communication transmission system to achieve frequency synchronization, eliminate transmission jitter and wander, reduce frequency errors, and ensure transmission quality and seamless interconnection of transmission equipment.

Application of Saisi High‑Precision BITS Equipment

In this Dali‑Ruili Railway communication transmission project, Saisi’ high‑precision BITS equipment SM2000 provides an accurate and stable frequency signal source for the two‑fiber unidirectional path protection rings (2M) of the full‑line communication transmission system.

Meanwhile, as an NTP server, the SM2000 provides high‑precision time synchronization signals to all devices in the transmission system, realizing integrated time and frequency synchronization for the Dali‑Ruili Railway and ensuring the stable operation of the railway network security protection system.

In the future, upon the full completion and opening of the Dali‑Ruili Railway, Saisi’ time and frequency synchronization technologies will fully support the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China‑Myanmar Economic Corridor, laying a solid foundation and empowering the further prominence of the Dali‑Ruili Railway corridor.
