A Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) is a type of crystal oscillator that enhances frequency stability through temperature compensation technology. Its core feature is the ability to automatically adjust the output frequency according to changes in ambient temperature, thereby ensuring the precision of clock signals. Compared with standard crystal oscillators, TCXOs typically have a frequency stability ranging from ±0.5 ppm to ±5 ppm, which is significantly higher than the ±20 ppm of standard crystal oscillators.

1. Working Principle
A TCXO integrates a temperature sensor and a compensation circuit internally. When ambient temperature changes, the temperature sensor detects the temperature fluctuation and transmits a signal to the compensation circuit. The compensation circuit performs fine-tuning on the oscillator frequency based on preset algorithms, so as to offset the frequency drift caused by temperature variations.

Thanks to its high-precision characteristics, TCXOs are widely used in fields with stringent requirements for clock signals, including:
Communication Equipment: Such as base stations and satellite communication systems, which require guaranteed signal synchronization and stability.
