In electronic devices, the crystal oscillator is a core component responsible for generating stable frequency signals. As a high-performance type of crystal oscillator, the Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) can automatically adjust its output frequency to adapt to changes in ambient temperature. 1. Frequency Range

TCXOs typically feature a frequency range of 20MHz to 36MHz. This frequency band delivers optimal stability and reliability for crystal oscillators and is compatible with most application scenarios, including wireless communication, audio equipment and other electronic devices.

2. Frequency Accuracy

The accuracy of a TCXO refers to the deviation between its actual output frequency and the reference standard frequency. Higher accuracy corresponds to better frequency stability of the oscillator. Generally, the frequency accuracy of conventional TCXOs ranges from 1ppm to 5ppm. It is worth noting that TCXOs with higher accuracy come with a relatively higher cost.

3. Operating Temperature Range

The operating temperature range defines the temperature interval within which a TCXO can maintain stable operating performance. Most standard TCXOs work stably at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. For application scenarios requiring higher temperature resistance, high-temperature crystal oscillators or oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) are recommended alternatives.

4. Dimensions

TCXOs are generally more compact than ordinary crystal oscillators, making them suitable for integration into miniaturized and compact circuit designs. Common industry standard dimensions include 1.56mm, 2.56mm and 3.27mm.

5. Package Types

TCXOs are available in a variety of package types. Different package specifications correspond to distinct mounting methods and electrical characteristics, catering to diverse circuit design and assembly requirements.

6. Response Time

The response time of a TCXO refers to the time interval required for its output signal to change correspondingly after the input signal or ambient condition changes. A shorter response time indicates a faster reaction to environmental fluctuations and superior overall stability of the oscillator.

In summary, the selection of a suitable TCXO requires comprehensive consideration of multiple parameters, including frequency range, frequency accuracy, operating temperature range, dimensions, package type and response time. Reasonable selection and configuration of TCXOs can effectively ensure the stable and reliable operation of electronic equipment.
