Carrier frequency stability directly governs the quality of wireless RF links. When ambient temperature shifts, standard oscillators drift, pushing carriers away from target frequencies and reducing receiver sensitivity, increasing packet loss and shortening communication range. This effect is amplified for outdoor and vehicle-mounted hardware subject to rapid thermal cycling. TCXOs are the mainstream solution for temperature-induced drift. Saisi TCXOs cover popular RF frequencies including 10 MHz and 100 MHz with multiple packages and stability grades for radio devices.
Saisi TCXOs are primarily supplied in 3225 and 2520 SMD packages, with smaller form factors available for compact hardware. Each device integrates temperature sensing and compensation circuitry. During factory calibration, frequency behavior is sampled at multiple temperature points and a unique compensation profile is stored. In operation, the circuit dynamically adjusts effective load to counteract the intrinsic thermal drift of the quartz wafer. Multiple stability grades are available for cost and performance scaling across -40 ℃ to +85 ℃. Voltage-controlled variants support external frequency adjustment for PLL architectures and production calibration.
Phase noise is critical for RF clock sources. Poor phase noise elevates the receiver noise floor and degrades signal reception. Saisi optimizes wafer selection and circuit tuning to reduce close-in noise and minimize coupling into receive paths. Shock and vibration qualification support vehicle radios and mobile data terminals, preventing frequency jumps under mechanical stress. Pin-compatible drop-in versions are available as alternatives to established imported components, reducing supply chain risks from long lead times and price volatility.
Power supply ripple directly impairs TCXO compensation accuracy. Noise on the supply rail disturbs the compensation loop and degrades stabilization performance. Saisi provides reference circuits for decoupling and filtering and layout guidance to separate clock traces from sensitive RF traces and mitigate EMI. Finished units undergo thermal cycling, burn-in, shock and vibration screening to remove latent defects and guarantee uniform performance across production lots.
Most RF boards use a multi-clock hierarchy: a TCXO serves as the main RF reference, a 10 MHz oscillator supports sampling synchronization, a 100 MHz oscillator feeds high-speed data circuits and 32.768 kHz crystals handle auxiliary low-frequency functions. Consolidating all timing parts from Saisi streamlines sampling, documentation and delivery scheduling. For new RF designs or component replacement projects, Saisi TCXOs deliver controlled thermal drift and customizable parameters to stabilize RF carriers and maintain reliable wireless links under changing thermal conditions.
